Coffee Caramel Tart

This elegant coffee caramel tart is sure to delight your guests and elevate your holiday feast.

 

INSTRUCTIONS
Make the Tart Crust:
  1. Combine flour, sugar, salt, and butter in a food processor. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add egg yolk and pulse until the dough comes together.
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough and press it into a 9-inch crust pan.
  5. Prick the bottom with a fork and chill for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely.
Make the Coffee Caramel Filling:
  1. Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until it begins to simmer.
  2. In a separate pan, cook sugar and water over medium heat it turns golden brown.
  3. Carefully pour the hot cream into the caramel, whisking constantly.
  4. Whisk in butter, coffee, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Pour the caramel filling into the cooled trat shell and let it set for at least 2 hours.


Make the Whipped Cream Topping:
  1. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
Assemble the Tart:
  1. Spoon or pipe a dollop of whipped cream onto the set caramel filling.
  2. Serve immediately or chill until ready to enjoy.
